Please join us in the parade in Stanardsville on July 4th. The parade will go on, rain or shine. We will be assembling in front of the High School, in parade spot 46 (the numbers are in chalk on the road), starting at 9:00 am. The parade starts at 10:00 am. Main Street in Stanardsville will be closed at 9:30 so plan to arrive before then to avoid traffic problems. If you are arriving via Rt. 33, plan to use the Celt Road exit. Parking will be available in the upper parking lot near the school.
We will have a float on a flatbed trailer, and welcome your help in preparing the trailer before the parade begins. Plan to ride on the float, holding signs for 5th Congressional District Candidate Jane Dittmar, and/or throwing candy to kids along the route; you may want to bring a chair to sit on if you plan to ride. Or walk alongside if you wish.
After the parade we will be at the Democratic booth in front of the Court House in Stanardsville, where we will hand out free bottles of water, provide information on Jane Dittmar, and sign up more Greene County Democrats. Please join us at the booth.
