In 2005, Democratic Senator R. Creigh Deeds lost his race for Virginia Attorney General to Republican Bob McDonnell by just 0.01% (325 votes of the total 1,941,449 votes cast). In Madison County, less than half of the registered voters cast a ballot that year.
While it is certainly encouraging that our state-wide candidates are running slightly ahead with only 1 week+ to go until the election, poll numbers will not directly correspond to the number of votes cast.
Who will win the get-out-the-vote effort (and therefore the election) this time around?
