Representative Phil Roe, a Republican from Tennessee, speaking on Tuesday, February 11, 2014, at the Heritage Foundation’s Conservative Policy Summit, took the opportunity to oppose ObamaCare, while also announcing a little too much information about his and his wife’s reproductive organs.
So many lies, it’s hard to know where to begin..
While speaking to the group, Representative Roe took umbrage to the fact he has to pay for benefits he and his wife will never use.
As an alternative option, Representative Roe suggested moving towards the options of Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and High-Deductible Health Plans (HDHP).
First and foremost, the government is not dictating which plan you can and cannot buy. For a majority of working Americans, they receive health insurance through their workplace. For these people, they will get the same insurance they had last year. If, by chance, the boss decides to switch plans, that is their choice and not the government’s.
Even for those who purchase insurance on their own, the government is not controlling which plan you may and may not choose. Thanks to ObamaCare, there is now a wide range of options available in one convenient place.
Representative Roe is alluding to the standards that were put in place for the health insurance industry by the passage of ObamaCare. Along with the long list of new benefits to policy holders, insurance companies must now meet certain standards across the board, regardless of which plan is chosen. This does not, in fact, raise the price of insurance. Instead, it brings the cost down…
